The Givedirect project has since the year 2019 been recording and hitting some huge milestones. The year 2019 has been the year for the District social welfare officer in the Gushegu District, as he mentioned he has not seen anything close to what the Givedirect project is doing.

Many who received the news about their work are also very much surprised, what GD has been doing is nothing but raising funds to cater for 34 households in the Nachem community, these funds are given to the beneficiaries free of charge with no strings attached.

Free Basic Income has been a campaign message by Andrew Yang a young man who is aspiring to stand for elections in the United States of America. He stated that Free Basic income for all is the way forward to alleviate poverty, He also says a $1000.00 a day for every American citizen can help end Poverty and move them to the Middle Class by the end of his tenure if elected into power.

Many had said Mr. Yang is too ambitious with that, and many also say it is achievable.

The government of Ghana has in a way been trying to work on such a program, the government calls it LEAP. This project is to support homes in the Rural or citizens with extreme poverty. But the government is only able to raise a maximum of $15 every 2 months to support the citizens listed onto this program.

GiveDirect has taken it upon itself to support a number of 34 or more every year to assist and raise them from extreme poverty to if not middle-class income earners by January 2019. The project has since February 2019 been raising an amount of $5,671.00 for distribution to the 34 households. Not just that the project also seeks to provide Condom support, to help curb unwanted pregnancies in the community.

GiveDirect has decided not to give out food donations, provision of shelter and delivery of disaster relief item but to deliver unto the beneficiaries adequate training on how to enhance their lives economically and giving them the actual tool needed, which is Financial Aid with no strings attached.

Beneficiaries who received these monthly stipends or basic income had gone ahead to commit part of that towards the renovation of an abandoned government school building in their community to Provide Basic education to children in the community. They’ve also committed part the same monthly stipends to employ the services of a Basic School Teacher to train or teach their wards.

The givedirect project has also employed the use of Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency to provide total transparency to the donors and the company. With these, every amount you spend or donate or give to the sustenance of this project is verifiable by anyone anywhere and at any time.

GiveDirect has been a force to reckon with and has since day one been praised by a lot of gallant men including the Vice President of Ghana.

But the network even though can sustain itself for the coming years, GiveDirect is seeking for more donors to help grow and extend the project to other parts of Ghana and if better to the whole of Africa.
