The institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria's (ICAN) Professional exams featured Cryptocurrencies to the surprise a student who doubles as a cryptocurrency investor, with 15 marks to be collected for free just like an Airdrop.

Nigeria has been a hotspot for cryptocurrency over the past year with Trillions of Naira transacted so far, Nigeria has also been touted as one of the major crypto users in the world. Even though the Central Bank of Nigeria is not or had allowed the use of Cryptocurrency in the country, it is well to note that cryptocurrency is well deep rooted in Nigeria than any other countries in Africa. Yet it is not legal to use cryptocurrency in the country.

Many are still in shock that an elite institution in the country has decided to feature crypto in its exams. The questions ranged from BLOCKCHAIN, BITCOIN, ETHEREUM, RIPPLE AND CRYPTO MERCHANTS.

The students were required to make a presentation on cryptocurrencies to a team of investors and the students have been presented with clues on what cryptocurrencies are, then what bitcoin, ripple, ethereum and other tokens are. And at the end of the questionnaire the students were required to advice on reasons for which cryptocurrencies should be a classified asset in a clients portfolio.

Cryptocurrency enthusiast says this is one of the best news they have heard in a long time in the African cryptocommunity and also believes that this little situations and developments pushes the ecosystem a little closer to mass adoption.

Mr. Chris Ani said; many in Nigeria still believes cryptocurrencies are nothing but ponzis and they will soon burst but with the ICAN’s actions today we all believe it is going to go far and wide and we share of the glory of hardwork and determination for all the cryptocommunity. To say we have reached is far-fetched we have a lot to do and now is the right time to capitalize on this milestone to reach to higher heights.

Nigeria as a country has not legalized cryptocurrencies yet as Andreas said “You can take your country out of cryptocurrency, but you can’t take cryptocurrency out of your country” this is where we are and we suggest to all African politicians to begin looking deep in to the potentials cryptocurrency brings to the fore.
